WeCrashed

WeWork grew from a single New York coworking space into a $47 billion company in under a decade. Within a year, most of that value was gone.

In 2022 the story became an 8-episode Apple TV+ series based on Wondery's podcast WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork, with Jared Leto as Adam Neumann and Anne Hathaway as Rebekah Neumann. It premiered on 18 March 2022.

Seven WhatsApp messages that fill desks (copy them)

The exact WhatsApp messages a coworking space sends from first enquiry to signed member, why each works, and two mistakes to avoid.

In India, the coworking sale happens on WhatsApp. The website and Google Maps bring the person; WhatsApp is where they decide. After two years of answering enquiries on a live coworking floor and reading the replies, these are the seven messages that do the work. Copy them, change the names, keep the structure.

1. The first reply, within a minute

Hi Rahul, this is [Space name]. We have received your enquiry and our team at [branch] will call you back within 15 minutes during working hours. To speed things up, let us know what you need next: Book a visit / Call me back / Send plan details

Why it works: it answers the only question the person has at that moment, "did anyone see this?", and gives them something to tap. The three options are the three reasons anyone messages a coworking space. Send this automatically; speed matters more than wording.

2. The two-slot tour offer

(Tours booked from the lead's page go on the calendar with the reminder below set automatically.)

Great. We have a desk free to show you tomorrow at 11 am or 4 pm. Which one works? I'll send the address and a map once you confirm.

Why it works: two concrete times, not "come any time". The person picks instead of planning. Our show-up rate roughly doubled when we stopped leaving the time open.

3. The tour confirmation

✅ Your visit to [Space name] is confirmed for Tue 22 Oct at 11:00 am. 📍 [Floor, landmark, road, city]. Map: maps.google.com/… Ask for [name] at the front desk. Reply RESCHEDULE if the time does not suit you.

Why it works: a confirmation with the address and a name turns an intention into an appointment. The map link removes the "where exactly?" call at 10:55.

4. The reminder, one hour before

Hi Rahul, see you at 11 — [name] has a desk ready to show you. Need directions? Just reply here.

Why it works: a no-show is usually someone who forgot, not someone who changed their mind. One message an hour before brings most of them.

5. The same-day follow-up after the tour

Thanks for visiting today, Rahul! Based on what you said, the dedicated desk at ₹7,500/month (GST extra) fits best — it includes 10 meeting-room hours and 24×7 access. I can hold it until Friday. Want me to send the agreement?

Why it works: it names one plan, one price, one deadline. Sending the full price list after a tour is a way of asking the person to decide alone. Recommend.

6. The day-pass nudge for the undecided

No rush on the decision. If you'd like to try a day first, here is a day pass for Thursday at ₹300 — it is adjusted against your first month if you join: pay.coworkrm.com/…

Why it works: a day pass turns "let me think" into a second visit, and a paid one. Half of our day-pass buyers from this message joined within two weeks.

7. The renewal, 30 days early

Hi Asha, your agreement with [Space name] ends on 5 Nov (30 days left). Reply RENEW to continue on the same terms, or tell us what has changed and we'll adjust the plan.

Why it works: members rarely leave because they are unhappy. They leave because the date arrived and nobody asked. Thirty days gives you time to fix whatever "what has changed" turns out to be.

The two mistakes that get a number restricted

Sending promotional messages to people who never opted in. On the WhatsApp Business API, a cold pitch to a number you scraped is a policy violation, and a few reports are enough to limit or block your number. Messages 1 to 7 are all replies to someone who contacted you, or service messages to a member. That is the line.

Marketing templates when a utility one would do. Meta approves templates by category. An enquiry acknowledgement, a tour confirmation, an invoice, a renewal notice are utility messages: cheaper and always allowed. Save marketing templates for the offer you send to people who ticked the box.

Put it on rails

Each of these seven messages is a template in CoWorkRM's WhatsApp inbox, filled with the person's name, your space and the slot, and sent at the right moment by the system, with the human stepping in at step 5. If you would rather keep doing it by hand, the free WhatsApp template pack on this site has all seven in English and Hinglish.
